30 years of breeding for high quality wool and natural colours. Fleece, roving, knitting yarn. organically tanned sheepskins available.
sustainable, natural, beautiful.
Gorgeous Yarns combines luxury wool and yarns with gentle natural dyes to produce a collection of beautiful, sustainable, hand dyed colours. The plant dyes are grown organically in my Cornish garden, and I harvest and dry them ready to use to hand dye luxury fibres like Alpaca, Silk, Merino and bamboo. Our wool and yarns are ethically sourced and where possible, organic.
The yarns are naturally hand dyed without harsh chemicals, and are suitable for most knitting, crochet and weaving projects. The palette of colours and tones from natural dyes are beautiful and gentle, with subtle variations meaning your project will be unique and very special. We have a selection of natural dye kits too if you want to have a go. Full instructions are included. I welcome custom dye orders.
Can’t quite decide? We have a selection of kits which include yarn and pattern, ideal as a gift and I’m often able to make up a kit to your specification. Please ask.

Those now remaining, such as the Tan-coloured Manx Loaghtans are characterised as AT RISK OF EXTINCTION by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. A Flock can still be seen near Sennybridge, Brecon. Help to preserve this rare breed by buying fine fleeces suitable for hand spinning / ready spun yarn.
